The Final Battle of the Revolutionary War, in Ohio?!?

Keith took us to a reenactment Saturday of the 225th anniversary of the last battle in the Revolutionary War, the Battle of the Olentangy. It was quite a sight to see Red Coats & Indians complete with loin cloth & war paint on a school bus – Anders won’t forget that any time soon. He sat very still on the bus ride out to the battle field. I think he was afraid of being scalped if he stood up! Believe it or not, this final battle was fought in Ohio on June 4th & 5th, 1782! We lost that battle with Colonel Crawford as the man in charge. Crawford, a friend of Washington’s from boyhood, was a good man in spite of losing that battle. We have schools, a county, etc. named for him around here, so it was good to hear the story behind the name.
