Mixed bag of feelings tonight. The Kids’ Club is planning a birthday party for Jesus in two weeks at the local library so I’m pumped about that. Pray with us for divine appointments, the children (& parents) to be listening to God’s voice on who to invite among their friends, etc. Also, one of the girls from an unchurched family came up to me after Club tonight & asked if we were a baptizing church. She wants to be baptized! PTL. She hadn’t been here for a month, so I was beginning to wonder if we were losing her after a year & a half of her coming faithfully. We prayed at the teacher’s meeting last week as well as the leadership team meeting Monday about her specifically. GOD HEARS US when we pray!
We also got an updte on the 15 year old boy in our church who just had a bone marrow transplant. Things have been touchy obviously for the last week or so while he waits for his blood counts to return. But now he has a blood clot in his stomach & there’s nothing they can medically do for it in his condition. Please pray with us for his family while they walk through this. His father, an MD, said he has a “25% chance” of making it through this. Of course, we know we don’t serve a God of “chance”.
Interestingly, two of the blogs I read tonight talked about when painful things happen in life. They are both very good & well worth a read. Jess at Making home, & John Piper at his Desiring God blog. Couldn’t agree more on both counts.
